To move truly “amphibious,” we use comfortable dry wear and inflatable vests. With frequent changes between land and water there are sometimes uncomfortable condition.
Dry suits & inflatable vests
“In icy waters of glacial lakes or cold fjords, an Anfibio DrySuit provides the level of safety needed for survival.”
Juliane Hermelbracht _ mitsackundpackraft.com
A drysuit is ideal for packrafters because it makes it easy to keep your regular clothing underneath! No more wet (and heavy) change of clothes. A dry suit is not only a comfort factor, but also a safety aspect. The temperature of the water is one of the biggest hazards when paddling. In addition, many rivers and streams are navigable only in the cooler season.
Our inflatable vest is designed for amphibious adventures (e.g. packrafting, wild swimming, swim trekking) or for combined land-water tours with backpacking boats. It is a buoyancy aid for calm river hikes, on mountain lakes and other tours on water and on land. With the vest, the focus is on support and comfort of the swimming position. Packing size and low weight are just as high a priority as buoyancy and comfort.
